Healthful Habits During Winter Months: Moving More!

Winter is quite a busy time for a lot of people. Winter holidays are joy-filled, but they can also be very stressful. Add to that the stress of jobs and school, which are often at their peak during winter, and it can be difficult to set aside time for healthy habits. Cooking nutritious foods, exercising, and getting enough sleep are often the first things to go when we are stressed, but they shouldn’t be! These healthful habits give us the energy we need to tackle all that we need to do.

“You” as the role model for physical activity

What is a role model? Someone you look up to, someone you want to model your life or actions after.  Many of us do not see ourselves as role models, especially in the area of physical activity.  With Hollywood actors and actresses portraying unrealistic images of attractiveness, and extreme sports being in the spotlight (i.e. Crossfit), it is hard to think about leading anyone, including yourself, to be fit.
